Our Story

A Legacy of Craftsmanship

In 1910, De Nederlandse Natuursteenhandel P.J.M. van Stokkum was founded in Rotterdam. What started as a natural stone trading company evolved into its own production facility during World War II. After the war, the company name was changed to Van Stokkum N.V. 

Growth and Expansion

In 1957, Fa. Comuth-Nooteboom in Venlo was acquired to meet the growing demand for natural stone in the utility construction sector. This strategic location facilitated exports to 
Germany. Investments were made in new production halls and modern processing equipment in Venlo.

Innovation and Leadership

In the 1980s and 1990s, under the leadership of Lei Schreurs, Van Stokkum focused primarily on utility construction and began importing custom-made natural stone from around the world after closing our own factory. From 2012 to 2022, Twan Smedts led our company as general director.
